# SEO Settings

> Control SEO defaults for your marketplace — default Open Graph image, title separator, sold domain visibility, and Google and Bing site verification.

**Settings → SEO** controls site-wide SEO defaults and how sold domains appear publicly.

## Default OG image

The image used in link previews (social shares, messaging apps) when a page has no specific OG image set. Affects the homepage, the `/categories` index, and any page without a custom OG image.

Recommended size: 1200×630 px.

## Title Separator

The character between the page title and site name in the browser tab and search results. Choose the one that matches your style:

| Option | Example |
| ------ | ---------------------------------- |
| `\|` | `sell.beer \| My Domain Portfolio` |
| `—` | `sell.beer — My Domain Portfolio` |
| `·` | `sell.beer · My Domain Portfolio` |
| `-` | `sell.beer - My Domain Portfolio` |

## Sold domain pages

Controls what happens to domain pages after a domain is marked as sold:

| Option | What visitors see |
| --------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Hidden** | Page exists but is not indexed (`noindex`). Only accessible via direct link. |
| **Trophy page** | Page is indexed and shows a "sold" banner. Good for social proof — proves your track record. |
| **Listed** | Domain appears at the end of inventory lists with a "Sold" badge. Fully indexed. |

When **Trophy page** or **Listed** is selected, you can customize the sold banner text shown on those pages.

## Search engine verification

Paste the verification codes from Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools. These are injected as `<meta>` tags in the site `<head>` — no file upload needed.

| Field | Where to get it |
| -------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Google Search Console Verification** | Search Console → Add property → HTML tag method → copy the `content` value |
| **Bing Webmaster Verification** | Bing Webmaster Tools → Add site → HTML Meta Tag method → copy the `content` value |

Enter only the value of the `content` attribute, not the full `<meta>` tag. Example: `google-site-verification=AbCdEfGhIjKlMnOpQrStUvWxYz`.
