The import wizard lets you add many domains in one pass, with optional AI generation for each one. Open it from Domains → Domains → Import in the admin panel. The wizard has five steps.

Step 1 — Source

Choose how to provide the domain list: Enter Manually or Upload File.

Manual entry

Type or paste domains directly, one per line:
Format: domain,price — price is optional. If you omit the price, the domain is imported without one.

File upload

Drop or browse for a file. Supported formats: The format is detected automatically when you upload the file. The detected format and domain count are shown before you continue. Template files for CSV and TXT are available to download from the Upload tab if you want to build a list from scratch.

Step 2 — Review & Configure

Before importing, configure global options and review each domain row.

Global settings

When AI generation is on, every imported domain gets content generated automatically during the import stream. You can choose which fields to generate — deselect any you want to fill in manually later. AI fields available for generation: Emoji, Tagline, Short Description, Description, Curator Insight, Perfect Match, Category, Tags, Use Cases, Brand Color, SEO Meta.

Per-row overrides

Expand any domain row to:
  • Change its import action (create / update / skip) individually — useful when a domain is flagged as a duplicate and you want to handle it differently from the global setting
  • Override the AI fields for that specific domain — generate fewer or more fields than the global setting
Domains flagged as duplicates are highlighted. The global duplicate action is pre-applied but can be overridden per row.

Step 3 — Import

The import runs as a live stream. Each domain is processed in order:
  1. Record created or updated in the database
  2. If AI generation is on — content generated and saved
  3. Status logged in real time
A progress bar and live log show the current domain and result. You can watch it complete or leave the page — the import continues in the background. When the stream finishes, a summary shows how many domains were created, updated, skipped, and how many AI fields were generated.

Step 3b — Diff Review

After the import, the wizard checks for domains currently in your database that were not in the import list. This catches domains you may have removed from your marketplace export without deleting them in the admin. For each missing domain you can choose: If there are no missing domains, this step is skipped automatically.

Step 4 — RDAP Enrichment

The final step fetches registration data for all imported domains via RDAP:
  • Registrar
  • Registration date
  • Expiry date
  • Name servers
  • Transfer type
RDAP enrichment runs in batches of 5 domains at a time and logs results as it goes. Domains whose TLD is not covered by RDAP (some country-code TLDs) are skipped with a note. This step is optional — click Skip if you don’t need registration data or want to fill it in manually.

After importing

All imported domains are immediately live with status Available. Go to Domains → Domains to review them, update prices, assign categories, and make any adjustments. If you used AI generation during import, review the AI-written content on each domain before sharing your site — spot-check descriptions, use cases, and categories to make sure they match your expectations.
